I have a sony 400 disk DVD player which is acting funny? - sony dvd carousel 400
The carousel turns and you do not listen to the playback, you have chosen to play. This DVD is about 5 years, but used only 50 times since he bought and worked great until today. I pulled the plug a few times to reset it ..

Sony player at this age are very demanding of what they play. I had to get rid of my two months after the failure.
Sensor is dirty, and does not recognize the disc. Maybe it had something to give to the inside. Sounds like it's time for a new player.
